Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). The couple was moved to Oxfordshire when she was five years old and attended an academy called the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma knew that she wanted to be an actress. For a number of years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. By the age of ten she had appeared and played the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for very first time back in the year 1999. Casting agents found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001, the film set records for its opening day opening and the opening weekend's earnings. Critics have praised both the film, as well as the performance by three main young actors. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five awards for the movie.
